Install XAMPP Windows
What is XAMPP ? XAMPP is an easy to install Apache distribution containing MariaDB, PHP, and Perl.
You can download the appropriate executable file from the XAMPP website, 32 bits or 64 bits version depending on your Operating System.
Run the downloaded executable.
Select the components that you need to be installed to your system.
Select the installation folder to which XAMPP has to be installed.
Click Next to start installation.
Once the installation is complete, start XAMPP.
Click Start in the actions to start the corresponding modules.
When the following dialog box appears,click allow access to add Apache Server to Firewall.
The modules in Green indicates that it is running fine.
Now, open a browser and type “localhost“, a sample test page would appear like the one below.
http://localhost/security/xamppsecurity.php to set the root password for MySQL.
To Stop these services, open XAMPP Control Panel and click stop on the corresponding modules. Start the services whenever you need it.
Now your system is ready to host websites on Local Area Network.
How do you access the hosted website inside a Local Area Network? You’ll need to use the IP Address of the machine in which the website is hosted, in your browser.
